This laboratory is divided in three, the laboratory of Physics of the Constructions, the Laboratory of Systems and Components and the Laboratory of Acoustics. The main-point of the Laboratory of Physics of Buildings - LFC is the study of the hygrothermal behavior of materials and components of the construction, regarding its suitability to the requests, its durability and the improvement of its hygrothermal characteristics. The work being developed lies midway between fundamental research, which will explain the basics, and the technological research. This position of the LFC allows not only to support the experimental work of the projects in progress, as well as to respond to external requests for representation of materials and components. The Systems and Components Laboratory aims to support research, experimental teaching and the provision of external services in the field of traditional non-structural materials, systems and components for building construction. The main objective of the Acoustics Laboratory is the study and analysis of the acoustic behavior of materials and components of the construction, regards its adequacy to the requests and the improvement of its characteristics and its direct backgrounds. In general, it covers the areas of Environmental Acoustics and Buildings.
